Founded in 2011, Tujuane Community Center was established to address the pressing needs of children and families in Ngando and Lenana, some of the most marginalized areas in Nairobi. In these communities, families struggle to survive on as little as $30-60 per month, often stretching their limited resources to support multiple children. Unlike the more widely recognized slums that attract significant international aid, Ngando has historically remained overlooked, leaving many children vulnerable to poverty, limited education, and a lack of opportunities.

At Tujuane, we believe that every child deserves a fair chance at a better future. We provide a safe and nurturing space where children can grow spiritually, academically, and emotionally. With mentorship and discipleship at the heart of our work, we instill strong values, guiding children to develop faith-driven lives rooted in Christ.

The education system in these areas is under immense strain, with public schools often overcrowded, hosting up to 80-100 students per teacher. Although tuition is free, many families cannot afford essentials such as uniforms, books, and school supplies. This financial burden forces some children to drop out, with nearly 30% failing to progress to secondary school. To combat this, we provide structured tutoring, scholarships, and school supplies, ensuring that children receive the support they need to stay in school and thrive academically. Beyond education, we care for the overall well-being of each child. Our feeding program provides nutritious meals every Saturday and Sunday, ensuring they have the energy to learn, play, and engage in our discipleship and mentorship programs. Through recreational activities, playtime, and field trips, we foster a sense of joy, belonging, and emotional stability. For over a decade, Tujuane Community Center has been transforming lives—one child at a time. By discipling, educating, and caring for the next generation, we are raising confident, responsible, and empowered individuals who will create lasting change in their communities.
